Kali Noir — Terms of Use (EULA)

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kali NoiriOS application and related services operated by KALI INDIE (the “Service”). By opening the app or completing a purchase you agree to these Terms and to Apple's Standard EULA for Licensed Application End Users, incorporated by reference. These Terms control Service-specific matters where they differ from Apple's EULA.

1. The Service

Kali Noir delivers interactive detective stories: readable case dossiers, optional narrated chapters for subscribers, and AI-assisted custom case creation (Case Crucible). Story and audio availability may change as we expand the catalog.

2. Your account

• Device-scoped account. On first launch, the app creates an anonymous backend account keyed by a random identifier stored in your iOS Keychain. You can read case files, save likes, generate cases in Case Crucible, and subscribe to PRO right away — no Apple sign-in required.
• Optional Apple ID. You may link Apple Sign-In at any time from the welcome screen, Profile, or Settings to back up your account and restore it on other iPhones using the same Apple ID. Linking is reversible from Settings.
• Single-device limitation when unlinked. Without a linked Apple ID, your data lives only on the current iPhone. Uninstalling the app or wiping the device will lose it. We recommend linking Apple ID if you want portability or recovery.

3. KALI NOIR PRO — auto-renewable subscription

• Plan: KALI NOIR PRO Monthly, USD 6.99 / month (price may vary by App Store region).
• Includes: full narrated audio catalog, Case Crucible generation, and saved favorite case files (likes).
• Free trial. Eligible new subscribers receive a free introductory trial; the trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the free trial). The transaction is tagged with an opaque appAccountToken equal to your device-scoped account identifier so we can reconcile your entitlement even if you later link or unlink Apple ID.
• Auto-renewal. Renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Cancellation stops future charges; the current period remains active until expiry.

4. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. See our Refund Policy.

5. Linking, unlinking, and merging accounts

When you link an Apple ID, our backend resolves your identity through a server-side merge:

• If the Apple ID has never been used with Kali Noir, your device-scoped account is upgraded in place.
• If the same Apple ID was previously used on another iPhone, we merge the two records (likes, history, forged dossiers, subscription) into the existing Apple-linked account in a single database transaction.
• Unlinking detaches Apple from the account but keeps all your data tied to the current device.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or redistribute catalog content outside the app.
• Use Case Crucible to generate unlawful, harassing, or infringing material.
• Attempt to spoof or share device identifiers, abuse the free trial, or evade subscription billing.
• Interfere with the Service or other users' experience.

7. AI-generated content

Case Crucible output is produced algorithmically and may contain errors or inconsistencies. It is fiction for entertainment — not legal, medical, or professional advice. You are responsible for prompts you submit.

8. Intellectual property

Stories, audio, art direction, and software are owned by KALI INDIE or licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service as intended. Custom cases you generate remain yours for personal use; we may store them to provide the Service.

9. Disclaimer & liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, KALI INDIE is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
