Kali Noir — Account Deletion

Every Kali Noir install has a backend account — either an anonymous, device-scoped account (default) or an Apple-linked account if you signed in with Apple. Both types can be deleted permanently using the steps below.

1. Delete your account from inside the app

1. Open Kali Noir on the iPhone that holds the account you want to delete.
2. Open Detective (the profile tab) → Settings (gear icon).
3. Scroll to Account data and tap Delete account. Confirm twice when prompted.

The request is sent to our backend over HTTPS and processed immediately. Your account row, reading history, liked cases, forged dossiers, and submission records are removed from our servers. The device-scoped identifier stored in your iOS Keychain is also cleared, and the app provisions a fresh anonymous account so you can continue using Kali Noir afterwards. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

2. Delete by email

If you cannot reach the in-app option (for example, you uninstalled the app or lost access to the device), email contact@kaliindie.com with subject Kali Noir account deletion. To locate the account, include one of the following:

• The 8-character account short ID displayed under Settings → Account profile (e.g. Local account · #A1B2C3D4) — preferred.
• The Apple ID email (relay or real) used to link the account, if Apple Sign-In was attached.
• The detective name visible on your profile.

3. What gets deleted

• The backend account row and its device-scoped identifier on the server.
• Display name and any Apple relay email we store.
• Reading/listening history and liked cases.
• Case Crucible dossiers you generated.
• Community story submissions linked to your account.
• Subscription linkage in our database (Apple may retain purchase records separately).

4. What deletion does not do

• It does not cancel your PRO subscription. Cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions before deleting if you no longer want billing to continue.
• It does not affect your Apple account or Sign in with Apple settings on the device.
• It does not roll back data on other devices currently signed in to the same Apple ID. To wipe everywhere, delete from every linked device or contact support.

5. After deletion

• The app provisions a brand-new anonymous account so you can keep using it immediately. None of your prior data is recoverable.
• If you previously linked an Apple ID and would like to start fresh while keeping the option to link the same Apple ID later, deletion is the right path — re-linking after deletion creates an entirely new record.

6. What may be retained

• Minimal purchase logs where required for tax, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, no longer linked to an active account.
• Anonymised aggregates that cannot identify you.
